Description

There seems to be a theme going on in this Parsha about stones. Stones are considered to be the building blocks of something. From this point in Sefer Bereishit onwards, we are focusing on producing the components of what will eventually make up Bnei Yisrael. The Shevatim as individuals are the foundation for what each Shevet as a whole will be as a part of a nation. Bnei Yisrael is eternal and will always live on as a nation, even if the individuals come and go. (Part of HaMidrasha at QC, OU-JLIC's Torah learning program for women at Queens College.)
