On his way to leave Eretz Yisrael, Yaakov Avinu first stops at the "makom," the future site of the Beit HaMikdash. Why does Yaakov need to stop there as he goes into the darkness of exile? We examine how Avraham, Yizchak, and Yaakov all have interactions with this place in Sefer Bereishit. We then explore the meaning of the fact that each one of them have very different interactions with this place, resulting in three unique tefillot of shacharit, mincha, and maariv.
