This shiur entitled: 'שניים מקרא ואחד תרגום: the status of Aramaic', seeks to establish the concept of integrating the secular and the sacred into one whole. Targum is secular, מקרא is Kodesh, and as the two are joined, the secular is 'redeemed'. We will learn that it was Yaakov Avinu who was responsible for Aramaic being integrated into the Torah. Why is 'שניים מקרא ואחד תרגום hinted at the beginning of Sefer Shmos?
