Description

Upon learning that Yosef was still alive, Yaakov Avinu was concerned that he only rejoice in unselfish, altruistic celebration for the sake of all that is holy. He therefore tested himself, rigorously, in a manner which we can emulate when we are, similarly, granted cause for celebration and joy.
