Masechet & Hilchot Shabbat 102b: the three cases where Rav says חייב משום בונה. Does Rav mean ONLY משום בונה, or EVEN בונה and he will bring two חטאות, one for בונה, another for מכה בפטיש? We will prove from R' Chananel that Rav says ONLY משום בונה, because מכה בפטיש begins after בונה ends. This view is explicit in the יראים. As long a s he's involved in בונה there cannot be מכה בפטיש. Rashi has a different approach to defining the latter; it overlaps with the completion of the מלאכה itself.
