For Masechet & Hilchot Shabbat 37a: two approaches to the ספק of the sugya re: סמיכה. Is thee sugya vacillating about שהייה on Erev Shabbat or חזרה on Shabbat? The Rif, Ba'al HaMaor, Tos' and the Rambam. We will study Rav Soloveichik's analysis of the יסוד המחלוקת, i.e. two definitions of the Issur חזרה.
