In this shiur for Masechet Shabbat 36b we offer an introduction to the first Mishna in the 3rd Perek, Perek Kira. We will discuss בישול דאורייתא ודרבנן, and speak about putting a pot on the oven and cooking the contents on Shabbat. Why did the Rabanan prohibit this if the pot was placed before Shabbat? Why did the Rabanan prohibit placing a pot on the oven on Shabbat if the contents were already cooked? We will begin our analysis of the debate between Chananya & the Rabbis regarding שהייה. We will introduce the controversy between Beis Hill & Beis Shamai re: חזרה. Finally we will introduce theספק of the sugya re: the Mishna: does it reflect Chananya or the Chachamim?
