For Masechet Sanhedrin 72a we begin the sugya of הבא במחתרת, the burglar who digs his way into the occupant home in order to steal the latter's possessions. Can the home owner kill the burglar? Does the burglar have to compensate the home owner for damages that he generated while he was burglarizing?
