Description

Retuning from a few week break, we begin by summarizing the entire narrative we have been building from the beginning of Sefer Bereishit through Parshat Lech Lecha. Then, picking up where we left off, we discuss the significance of the historical process of the Daled Malchuyot, the four stages of exile that take place over the course of Jewish history. The fact that these four exiles under these four kingdoms in such a specific order is defined by Chazal so far in advance implies that there is an intentional process unfolding. What is the meaning of this process? We examine the origins of each of of the four kingdoms, define them, and explore what this process is meant to produce within us over the course of Jewish history.
