Description

This shiur in preparation for Shavuot, entitled 'the right way to commit to the study of Torah', is based on an essay in the Sefer המה ינחמוני. Torah study should be seen from 2 possible vantage points representing two Middos (character traits). One is the aptitude to offer a sharp and quick answer, it is the immediate response to a difficult question with a brilliant 'blitzkrieg' insight, impressive, intellectually dazzling. The other approach requires slow and methodical analysis, the student must ponder the problem and plummet to the depths of Torah's deep & profound waters. In our study today of the Aggadeta in Menachot and of the personalities of the 2 giants, R' Tarfon & R' Akiva, we will determine the key to success in Torah learning
