Description

Many Yeshivos have been impacted by the Brisker Derech of learning. We use the writings of the Rav and some of his Talmidim to describe it. We then focus on the Chazon Ish and Rav Shagar and attempt to explain the reasons why they were opposed to elements of it. This connects to how Gemara is studied in religious Zionist and Modern Orthodox settings. We conclude with some thoughts about how this relates to Kabalas haTorah on Shavuos.
