Ki Teitzei opens with a discussion of going out to war and ends with the command to destroy Amalek. In between, however, there are dozens of very personal and daily-life oriented mitzvot that have nothing to do with war at all. How do they connect to the title of Ki Teitzei (going out to war) and culminate with the command to eradicate Amalek? We explore the origins of Amalek, delve into the complex process of making meaning of inspirational moments, examine the importance of seeing God in every detail of life, and link all of this back the the personal war to fully eliminate Amalek within ourselves.
