Description
For Niddah 58b: תלייה בכתמים, must we assume a reasonable possibility that the דם came from elsewhere, and how does this apply in our times? The great debate between the Me'il Tzedaka & the Sidrei Taharah. Today we could hardly assume that the stain on the cloth is from the blood of a bug. Why then is a כתם פחות מכגריס considered Tahor in contemporary life? Could it be that the Rabbis established טמאת כתמים with built-in limitations? But why did they do so? The sugya seems to assume that if ודאי מגופה קאתיא would certainly be Tameh, and that should apply even if she found a טיפת דם כחרדל the smallest stain! The same issue applies with regard to colored garments or garments that are not מקבל טומאה since in these situations תלייה seems out!
