Description

In Parshat Shoftim, Hashem instructs Klal Yisrael to establish a system of courts in Eretz Yisrael, where the highest court is located in the Beit HaMikdash itself. What is the connection between judgement and the Beit HaMikdash? What is the nature of the overlap of judgement and worship in this specific place? We explore the depth of where judgment is meant to emanate from, how religion and law are intended to overlap, and the practical implications all of this has for how we seek halachick and religious guidance in our own lives. (Part of HaMidrasha at QC, OU-JLIC's Torah learning program for women at Queens College.)
