We will study Tos' in Masechet Shavuot in the name of Rabenu Tam who indicates that the ברכת הנהנין on the wine of Kiddush has the status of a ברכת המצוה. We seek to investigate the possibility of a Beracha on the wine without drinking any wine. A large part of the shiur today will address the question of Rosh Chodesh that fell on Shabbat: if he omitted mention of Rosh Chodesh in his ברכת המזון, is it possible that he would be required to repeat Birkat HaMazon? We will see a sugya in Masechet Berachot. In this context we will study the insight of Rav Yosef Engel interpreting a sugya in Masechet Zevachim: which Korban Musaf comes 1st? That of Rosh Chodesh or the Musaf of Shabbat?
