The big chiddush that Hiddur Mitzva may allow for violating the Shabbat, may invalidate a Mitzva (when the Hiddur is absent), and may generate a Birchas HaMitzva for itself. The gigantic chiddush that לפני עור might generate an obligation of sacrificing one's life.
