Is the תולדה a violation of the אב itself, or is it a new Issur, a new category with its own unique דינים? In this shiur we will discuss the Halacha of תוספת as it applies to both Shabos and Yom Yov. We must establish a system of categorization: categories & sub-categories, אבות ותולדות. Shabbos itself is the category; Tosefes is the sub-category. Does Tosefes share the identical דינים as Shabbos itself? This seems to be a debate between Rashi & Tos', as well as a controversy between the Maharshal & the Taz with a number of Halachik implications.
