Description

What more could Hashem want from us than strict observance of His mitzvot? We are told in this Parsha that beyond keeping the mitzvot, we are expected to do that which is "straight (yashar) and good in the eyes of God." What does this mean? What is being asked of us here? In this shiur we explore what is means to be a true servant of God, how critical it is to become a "yashar," and how this is the goal of Torah from the very start of Bereishit all the way until the end of Sefer Devarim. This shiur gives both important insight into the essence of Sefer Devarim as well as an understanding of what we are truly meant to become in this world. (Part of HaMidrasha at QC, OU-JLIC's Torah learning program for women at Queens College.)
