Our sugya in Masechet Niddah prohibits Tevilla by day, requiring tevilla by night. We must avoid the possibility of misleading the daughter to believe that Tevilla could take place on the 7th day of her נדות. Tos' establishes that even in our time when our ladies are זבות & the Torah would allow Tevilla by day on day #7, nevertheless the requirement of Tevilla by night is still in place. In this shiur we seek to understand the controversy bet Rabenu Tam & the Rashbam re: what must take place at night? Is it her return home, her Tevilla, or even her departure towards the בית הטבילה? We'll study the presentation of the Beit Yosef as well as that of the Bach. We will look into the Shulchan Aruch siman #197 & the Shach. Finally the Chatam Sofer
