Derech HaLimud: the Rogatchover Gaon: הרכבה מזגית או הרכבה שכנית, חלק א, this is an introduction to a new topic, a new "key" to guide us in our understanding of many sugyos in Shas. This giant who knew the entire Torah, was unique in his willingness to use philosophical categories & logical structures and apply these to the world of Halacha. We will focus on one particular structure that analyzes combinations: are these combinations made up of elements, each independent with its own identity? Or has a new entity emerged and it is impossible to reverse the situation and cut the whole into separate pieces? We will begin with an understanding of the Created world and the creation of man as a physical entity.
