Description
We continue the sugya in Bava Metzia 15b: Does the buyer have any rights if he knew he was purchasing a stolen property? The debate between Rav & Shmuel, can the buyer force the seller to return the $ he paid for this stolen field? Was the $ given as an outright gift, or as a temporary deposit? Is this case analogous to the man who gives $ to his sister for Kiddushin The 2nd half of today's shiur will address the issue of a גזלן who - after selling the stolen property - bought the field from the נגזל. Did he do so on behalf of the buyer? If so why? The sugya offers two answers & the נפק"מ. What if the thief offered the stolen property as a gift & then bought the field from its rightful owner? Can the thief take the land from the buyer?
