For Masechet Niddah 16a, we find contradictions in Rishonim: on the one hand, we paskin Vestos DeRabanan, on the other, the obligation to separate at the time of the Vest is DeOraisa. We will present the pros & cons of the breakthrough of the Noda BiYehuda in his thesis to reconcile this apparent contradiction. We will not assume as the Ra'avad did that the derivation from והזהרתם is only an Asmachta DeRabanan. The objections raised against this Chidush focus on the viability or lack thereof of the two 'opposing' חזקות, her חזקת טהרה, and the Chazaka אורח בזמנו בא. In the 2nd half of this shiur we will study the Ra'ah & the Rashba on פרישה סמוך לוסת.
