Description

In this shiur we introduce the major themes of Sefer Bamidbar as a whole. How does the word "Bamidbar" and the concept of a desert encompass everything that we will encounter in this book of Chumash? What is the meaning of this being the fourth Sefer in Chamisha Chumshei Torah? Why do Chazal refer to this Sefer as "Chumash HePekudim," the Book of Counting, and why does it begin with a census? Through examining these questions we lay the groundwork for the overreaching themes that will carry us throughout the entirety of Sefer Bamidbar.
