Description

The fundamental sugya in Masechet Bava Kamma 22a-b presents the great controversy between R' Yochanan & Reish Lakish over the essence of אש. Is it אדם המזיק or is it ממון המזיק? Is the fire like his arrow, i.e. כוחו, or is the person who is responsible for the firs is obligated to guard the אש and guarantee that the fire will not get out of hand. We will see the נפק"נ as well as various proofs & counter arguments from a number of Mishnayos.
