Description
This is the second part of our shiur for Parshat Bechukotai &in preperation for Chag HaShavuot, based upon the insights of the Tolner Rebby. The subject of this shiur is the significance of learning Torah in groups, in pairs, rather than studying Torah on one's own. How does Har Sinai establish the centrality of recognizing the contribution of the other in the study of Torah? Why is the Torah so harsh with those who study Torah alone without a Chevruta? How are we meant to understand the code word חרב (sword) in our Parsha? Why is egotism a great gift, but at the same time a great challenge? We are enjoined not to misuse this attribute. We will offer a new understanding of the principle of Rebby Akiva זה כלל גדול בתורה.
