Description

What does the word kedushah really mean? In this shiur some of the misconceptions associated with this term are discussed. Then Rashi and the Ramban weigh in, and give their definitions. It seems that kedushah is linked specifically to the use and misuse of marital relations and food. Based on these ideas, we explore some of the meanings of Ramban's famous phrase, "naval be'reshut haTorah," and how it relates to the concept of kedushah. We finally conclude that because this topic is so central to Torah it warrants further explanations and discussion.
