Our chakira today for the sugya in Masechet Ketuvot 7b: Definig the nature of ברכת חתנים, are the Sheva Berachos a Chovas Shevach incumbent upon the חתן, or a דבר שבקדושה incumbent upon the ציבור? This controversy between the Mishna Berura & the Brisker Rav may just be a debate in the Gemarah itself! Whereas Rav Nachman derives ברכת חתנים from Boaz who gathered ten Elders in order to recite these Berachot, R' Avahu finds the source for the mitzva of Sheva Berachot in the verse in Tehilim which formulates an obligation upon the Tzibbur. The latter could reflect the definition of דבר שבקדושה; while Boaz seems to be an individual mitzva incumbent upon the חתן. We will investigate a number of practical נפק"מ.
