Of all the issues of tumah dealt with in these two Parshiyot, tzaraas seems the most distant from us. What is tzaraas really about? Why is it always connected to lashon harah? We delve into the spiritually intense creative and destructive powers of speech, going all the way back to Creation itself, and unpacking its impact within our daily lives. In the end, we come to understand how tzaraas very much fits into our overall picture of tumah and taharah. (Part of HaMidrasha at QC, OU-JLIC's Torah learning program for women at Queens College.)
