For Masechet Berachot 30b, we will study the Halacha of Rav that if one omitted Ya'aleh VeYavo in Arvis of Rosh Chodesh he does not repeat his Shemona Esrei since אין בי"ד מקדשים את החודש בלילה. We will raise a number of q's re: Rav's logic as well as more questions on the Chayei Adam who applies the rule of Rav to the night of Rosh Hashana. We will raise a difficulty with regard to Ya'aleh VeYavo in ברכת המזון of Rosh Chodesh. We will analyze the issue of Hallel on Rosh Chodesh & compare Rosh Chodesh to Chol HaMoed. Based on the transmission of the Rav za"l we will analyze Reb Chaim Brisker's ruling to omit tefillin on Chol HaMoed. This will lead to an understanding of Kedushas Hayom vis-a-vis Issur Melacha on R"Ch & Chol HaMoed.
