Description

Masechet Berachot 31b: The law that prohibits sitting near or walking in front of the מתפלל. We began this sugya in an earlier shiur, and today we wish to expand upon what we established in the earlier shiur. We will offer a brief review of what we learned, i.e. the three explanations as to why one is enjoined from sitting within ד' אמות של המתפלל & the differences LeHalacha between these three explanations. We will then proceed to study a number of Responsa which address a variety of applications & scenarios dealing with this Halacha. Under what circumstances is one permitted to sit within a radius of the Mispallel? When is it permissible to take three steps backwards even thou someone is standing behind you and davening Sh"E?
