In today's shiur we will study Rabenu Efraim's rejection of Rabenu Tam's proof and the support for Rashi's view that Rava paskens like Rebby Yudah שמין במינו אסור במשהו. R' Efraim introduces the possibility that all depends upon שם rather than טעם. We will study the Shach's attack against the concept of שם in the laws of Taaroves. At the end of today's shiur we will offer an introduction to the sugya in Chulin 81a re: the Halacha that determines the victor in the confrontation between Chazaka & Rov, as well as Chazaka & Safek.
