We will try to analyze the definition of חזקה, how and when it operates. Our goal is to reconcile a number of sugyos that seem to contradict one another. We will look at a sugya in Masechet Chulin re: Rebby Meir who combines a Chazaka with the מיעוט to undermine the Rov. As the Ramban points out we cannot validate a Chazaka without analyzing the שורש הספק. We will look at the first sugya in Masechet Niddah re:the taharos she touched yesterday & the Tamei who went yesterday into a Mikve that was checked today & found to be חסר. We will look at the case of a child who may have touched a dought, as well as the famous case of אלמנת עיסה in the 1st Perek of Ketuvot. The shiur will be based on various statements of the Ramban & the קהילות יעקב.
