The sugya in Masechet Chulin 97b addresses the qustion of the status of מליחה & its comparison to כבוש. We will discuss different levels of בליעה, beginning with בישול, going down to צלי ומליחה, and from there to cold onto hot (תתאי גבר), down to a בליעה בצונן. The latter requires קליפה, whereas a full בליעה requires ביטול בשישם.
