We will study the sugya of Rava's regulations recorded by the Gemorah in Masechet Chulin 97a. This will serve as the introduction to the basic principles of Hilchos Taaroves. Rave was happy to discover the חידוש of R' Yochanan that allows one to rely on a non-Jewish professional chef to taste the Taaroves. On the basis of the tasting of the chef we can conclude that there is no Taam Issur & we can permit the Ta'aroves. We will begin studying the Tos' who addresses the q': how do we pasken re: מין במינו? Rashi accepts the view of R' Yehuda, namely, there is no ביטל in a mixture of מין במינו! Rabenu Tam is of a different view & will counter against all of Rashi's proofs.
