Description

We will begin the sugya in Masechet Chulin 96b-97a, and address the distinction between שמן and כחוש, i.e. fatty meat and lean meat in the laws of Taaroves. The sugya distinguishes between בישול and צלי regarding the mixture of Issur & Heter. We will jump from the sugya in Chulin to the Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De'ah, & begin our study of Y"D siman #105, se'ifim 4-7. We will learn that although the rule is that צלי is not enough to create a full-blown transfer of Ta'am, however the exception to this rule is the case of שמן. Furthermore we are no longer experts capable of establishing if this meat is שמן or כחוש. We will have to be stringent. This stringency, however, only applies to something like Neveyla which is אסור מחמת עצמו.
