Description

While the design of all of the vessels of the Mishkan appear in Parshat Terumah, the Kiyor, or washbasin, only appears here in Parshat Ki Tisa. Why does the Torah wait until now to present the Kiyor? What makes it so unique? Why is it so vital to service in the Mishkan? We discuss the importance of preparing for mitzvot in general and focus in on the halachot and hashkafa of washing one's hands in the morning in the image of the Kohanim in the Mishkan. (Shemot, Ki Tisa: V'Asita Kiyor Nechoshet, pp. 237-239)
