For Masechet Berachot 26b & 29b we will study the opinions of the Ba'alei HaTos' regarding the question: can the Yachid fulfill his Chovas Tefilla by listening to the Shatz & his repitition of Sh"E? As a rule, a בקי must recite his own Tefilla B'Lachash & cannot fulfill his obligation thru the Shatz. But what if the Yachid omitted a beracha or Yaaleh Veyavo? In order to explain the Tos' we will need to study the purpose of חזרת הש"ץ. Based upon the insights of the Rav za"l we will distinguish between Tefillah BiTzibbur & Tefillas HaTzibur. In this context we will differentiate between the Chovas Yachid & the Kiyum Tzibur of Tefilla. We will study the Rambam's chiddush re: a Shatz who messed up his own תפילה בלחש.
