We will analyze the case of one who did not daven mincha on Shabbos & for Maariv after Shabbos he omitted Havdala in the 1st Amida & inserted it into the 2nd. We will develop 2 approaches to this Sugya. 1- all depends upon his intention, which tefilla did he want as חובה and which as תשלומין? Two- all depends upon the מטבע של תפילתו, i.e. it is the 'intention' inherent in the Tefilla as he prayed it. Acc to two we are not interested in his intention. The Bach takes the 1st approach & devises a complex scenario in which the person changed his mind after realizing that he had omitted Havdala from his 1st amida. The Rif takes the 2nd approach & successfully reconciles our 2 Beraisos. We will analyze the Maaseh in Valozhin, 2 responses of גר"ח.
