Description
The Gemorah in Chullin 97b quotes the principle of Shmuel regarding soaking, כבוש, which is considered as a type of cooking. This applies only if the soaking was a full 24 hours. What if we do not know if the full 24 hours passed? The Ramah in Yoreh Deah siman #105 assumes that we must take the strict view and assume that the 24 hours passed. The Taz disagrees and assumes that just as in the case of a Mikveh we can rely on the חזקת כשרות of the Mikveh so too here we can rely on the Chezkas Heter of the food. But how is this different than the case of נשפך where we know that Issur fell into the Taaroves but we are unsure if there is 60x & Bittul? The פמ"ג sees no difference. Based upon the later poskim we will suggest a distinction.
