Description

In this shiur for Hilchos Tefilla we'll study the Halachachik prohibition enjoining us from sitting near one who is standing & davening. We will address the following q's: does this Issur apply if one is sitting on the side of the Mispallel? Behind the Mispallel? What if the one who is sitting is reciting Kriyas Shema or Birchas K"S? Is one permitted to study Torah in close proximity to the mispallel? We will study3 explanations for this Issur: the Tur says it appears as if the 'sitter' is not interested in Kabalas Ol Malchus Shamayim. The Taz has a different approach. Within 4 amos the 'ground' is sactified by Tefilla & is defined as אדמת קודש which requires awe & respect. The Meiri assumes that the 'sitter' is inhibiting the Mispallel.
