We will raise a fundamental חקירה regarding the definition of the Issur Basar Bechalav. We will prove that this is the essence of the controversy between Tos' and the Ran. We will study the language of the Shulchan Aruch 105:7 which would reflect the oppinion of the Ran. It is this view which is adopted by the Shach. The Taz on the other hand quotes the Maharshal who reflects the view of Tos' and is explicit in the Rashba. We will suggest that this issue is a debate between the Rambam & the Ra'avad as explained by Reb Chaim in his Sefer on the Rambam. What are the נפק"מ between these two definitions?
