Description

For our introduction to Yoreh Deah Siman #91, we will discuss the following issue: when does the requirement of הדחה prohibit an action לכתחילה? May one allow for contact between cold meat & cold cheese and rely on הדחה? May one place cold, dry היתר onto a non-kosher plate or pot if the latter is cold & dry? We will study the two readings of the Ramah, that of the Shach & that of the Taz. Both are difficult and we'll need to come back to the drawing board to try to justify the chumra of the Ramah.
