Description

The Rebbe asks two fundamental questions: Why does Yaakov ask for a bracha from the Angel if Hashem already blessed him? And what exactly was the Angel's response? Yaakov was telling the angel that after going through so much pain, he can't just go back to normal life. He needs a real salvation and not just one of survival. The Angel therefore responds that Yaakov will be Yisrael now meaning that he will rule from the top. We know that 'The actions of Our Fathers is a sign for Us'. This whole episode according to the Rebbe is coming to teach us that even though we go through pain and suffering, we always have within us this strength of being Rulers. To fight through and never give up on ourselves because Hashem is always with us.
