Our goal is to define the concept פנים חדשות, i.e. the condition that must be met in order to recite Sheva Berachot during the week following Nisuin. We will study four opinions in the Rishonim and find each mentioned by either the Mechaber of the Ramah in Shulchan Aruch. At the outset we will investigate the possibility of deriving Sheva Berachot from the parsha of Eliezer & Rivka and the berachot that were bestowed upon her by her family as they sent Rivka off to her husband Yitzchok with the latter's שליח, Eliezer. Are these berachot praises to Hashem or essentially petitions? Is the principle of Panim Chadashot related to the Seuda & Simcha, or to the Birchat Nisuin?
