Description

Rashi says when Yaakov was sleeping and dreaming of the ladder and angels coming up and down, Hashem was standing over him, guarding him. The Rebbe asks, Why does Hashem have to do this guarding here? He is always with us? When there is war in the world, there is such a danger for the Jewish People, that Hashem does a special guarding for us. Hashem is filled with kindness and when a Jew doesn't have his own merits, Hashem guards him for his 'Zechus Avos'. When something is written-it lasts, however, when something is spoken-it disappears. We are in a time of 'galus dibbur'. Words don't get in and even when they do, unless the heart is open, the words don't enter. Hashem did this special guarding to tell us that he's always with us.
