We will analyze the debate between Rambam & Ramban re the q': are Issurei Avel activated immediately with the death of one's relative? Or are these Issurim engendered by קבורה and not before? This controversy depends upon our conceptual understanding of the relationship bet. Aninus & Aveilus, and upon the question: what engenders Isurei Avel, death or burial? We will present the insight of the Rav za"l in his Yahrtzeit shiur acc to which even the Rambam agrees that Issurei Avel are generated by מיתה; the implementation of Aveilus, however, must be postponed until after burial. The Avel is preoccupied with his mitzva of קבורה. In the latter part of the shiur we will study the definition Issur of washing on Y"K, in Aveilus, & on Tisha B'Av.
