For Masechet Chulin 104b, we will continue our study of the Shach's analysis of the limitation of the Issur HaAla'ah to the Issur בשר בחלב. The Shach clarifies that there are two distinct categories of the Issur HaAla'ah. The first is unique to Basar BiChalav. The 2nd belongs to the universal category of Gezaira, i.e. the Rabanan are concerned lest certain situations may lead to the violation of the Torah law. In the case of Challah, the Issur HaAla'ah belongs to the universal classification of a גזירה דרבנן.
