Description

The third chapter of Sefer Yonah picks up the narrative from where it left off after Chapter 1. Yonah finally comes to Nineveh and declares that in 40 days (?) the city will be destroyed - and the townspeople believe him and respond with immediate repentance. The entire chapter is presented, along with the difficulties inherent in the people's - and king's - reaction, as well as their demand that the animals "participate" in the repentance.
