Description

The language used to describe how old Sarah was when she died is very interesting. More than that, the Torah uses the same method by Avraham except one difference. The 'Meor V'Shemesh' quotes a Torah from the Riminover that just like salt sweetens meat, so too suffering clears our sins. He explains though that if there is too much salt on the meat it is inedible and so too if there is too much suffering, we can't handle it. When Sarah found out that Yitzchak was almost slaughtered on Sinai, she died. She didn't die because she thought he died, because she knew he didn't. She died because of the intensity of that split second. The split second between life and death for her son. Life is filled with unpredictability.
