Description

Rav Pinchas Kuritzer said that the soul of the Baal Shem Tov came to awaken the Jewish People from their sleep. He said that there are four levels of sleep 1) Awake but not awake 2) Asleep 3) Passed Out 4) Unconscious with no ability to even feel His name is Yisrael Baal Shem Tov because he would whisper the name "Yisrael", the essence of the Jews, in order to wake the nation up. In our time, we are so deep into the fourth level of sleep. This anesthesia brings us to a point where we can't even feel any holiness. We are so immersed in impurity and purity at the same time without any separation between the two.
